Free SVG and Silhouette File – Chevron Card Base, Plus a Layout and a Card

Hi everyone! I would like to share a card that I made using  Art Institute Glitter, Helmar Glue (of course) and My Mind’s Eye The Sweetest Thing.

You may or may not know this about me, but I sometimes design my own cutting files in SVG and Silhouette format and I like to share them with my friends (that’s you!).  There are tons of cutting files out there for chevrons, but none with a border that fits to the dimensions of an A6 card (5.5″ X 4.25″). I searched and searched and couldn’t find anything, so I made my own. Here is an image of what the cutting file looks like.

If you would like to download the cutting files for free, feel free to do so at this link: www.scrapsation.com/free-svg/Chevron-Card-Base.zip . The zip file contains one .studio file for Silhouette Studio users and one SVG file for everyone else. The only thing that I ask in return is that if you use it, please credit me for my work (ex. link back to my post in your blog post or if you get published using the file to state that the cutting file was designed by Kate Vickers). That’s it! I hope that you get some use out of it. I plan to use the file a few more times myself.

In this closeup shot, you can see the detail of the glitter that I applied to the My Mind’s Eye dimensional die cut quite well. I love how it catches the sunlight.

I would also like to share this layout that I did with the Escape Kit (September) from Scrapbooking From The Inside Out. The kit features My Mind’s Eye, Webster’s Pages and Pink Paislee. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry to create the flower out of the Maya Road trim and to adhere the butterfly to the center of the flower. I always use 450 Quick Dry when I need extra hold. I also used Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere my die cut hexagons and the photos to the page.

Here’s a close up of my flower embellishments. The pink one was made with the trim that comes in the kit, a butterfly cut out of a piece of Webster’s Pages paper, my sewing machine and some rhinestones. The white flower consists of two Prima flowers that I destroyed and then reassembled as one single flower with a My Mind’s Eye chipboard piece in the centre.

That’s it for today! I hope you like my projects. Enjoy the free SVG / Silhouette file! Let me know what you think of it.
